Festival Highlights

Field trips are Monday through Friday, March 14-16 and March 19-21 from 10 am to 5 pm. ***The Asian Art Museum will be open for school groups on Monday, March 19, 2018. Please note that the Media Arts event will take place at the SFMOMA on Friday, March 9, 2018.

Thursday Night Celebration: March 15, 2018, 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Asian Art Museum. Please invite your school community, staff, families, friends, students, children, and grandparents.

Visual Art Exhibition: Artwork by students, pre-kindergarten through 12th grade, from San Francisco's public, private and parochial schools, and community centers will be exhibited in the Resource Center, North Court, Japanese Tearoom, Hamon Arade and Loggia of the Asian Art Museum.

Performances: More than 80 student and community groups will perform during the nine-day festival. Choral groups, orchestras, drama and dance ensembles, jazz bands and concert bands from all over San Francisco will perform in Samsung Hall of the Asian Art Museum. Literary Arts Event: March 18, 2018 (2pm) at the Contemporary Jewish Museum.

Media Arts Event: The event will be on Friday, March 9, 2018 (click here to view the screening schedule) at the Phyllis Wattis Theater at SFMOMA.  Please note: All classes are welcome to apply for a field trip to Media Arts Day even if you did not submit a film. The screening is divided into a morning session appropriate for all ages, and an afternoon session for grades 8-12.

Following the afternoon screening, filmmakers will be invited to participate in a Q&A session lead by Paul Ferraris (A.P. Giannini Middle School Media Arts).
